HNNNNGGGG!!!

Pricing for Samco silicone hoses is ridiculous. My shopping cart is at like $300 with tax and shipping.

Why not go with someone else?

I don't know how you would "grind into paint"...I doubt that pad has a heavy cut, if any, and that's also why they required a DA.

Le sigh...

So much stuff I want to buy, so little money. I've been trying to save up for the TIG welding machine, but with paying for gas, buying a few new tools, and the loss from the red E30, I'm only at like 1900/4000. Then there is $3129 that is owed to me by two people that are taking forever to return the money, and have lost all chances of friendly loans in the future.

Because I want quality and most of the items I need are somewhat specialty. If there was any other company at all that had a good reputation and selection, I wish I knew.

Easy, 400 grit sand paper with a high speed rotary tool grinds into paint.

I'm curious how that pad does the same thing as a clay bar. Sounds a bit iffy.

Mercedes sure seemed to love welding in tons of reinforcing braces on the 190E. No removable subframe like the E46, because it's welded in. No removable radiator support, because its welded in. Stamped sheet metal? No, welded steel tubes! Great for rigidity, but horrible for cost and repairs.

Cool 2.5-16V restoration here: http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/foru...d.php?t=113980

LOL at you for comparing a clay bar with 400-grit sand paper. And it clearly says DA, not rotary. Also, here are buffing pads that have zero cut, like applicator pads for sealant.

I'm not saying it's impossible.

I'd just be hesitant until I saw it in use.

Any tool, improperly used, will cause damage.

I'm really wondering whether I should spend my money on a new paint job for the 190E, or for this TIG welder...
