Neither. Get the car running, and the rest will work itself out.

I think I'm okay with starting off with a car in similar condition with the one in that build thread.

This isn't Kalim's engine swap, the car does run if I throw it all back together.

Also, the longer I wait, the greater chance of my money being spent on smaller things and the less likely it will be that the welder or paint job gets purchased.

I just wish I knew how they deal with all that rust. You can't hand sand every little bit away, and what about the more serious rust that is causing pitting?

Why 2JZ? An S54 is about the same, and you can get all your electronics to still work.

Because turbos

And if I'm going through all that effort, I would rather just get an m3. In a couple of years they'll be in the same place as the e36 m3, priced around 8-10k

I don't think E46 M3s are ever going to drop that low. US E36 M3s were so similar to the non-Ms and had such high production numbers that they weren't very special like all the other M3s. I'm betting 15k is going to be the bottom limit for an E46 M3 without a salvage title and body damage.

You talk too much. Get the car running if it's as easy as you say it is.

Why do you want it running so badly?

I don't want it running so badly, I want you to stop whining. You complain about not having enough money to finish it but with the little money that you do get, you spend it on things you already have.

lol, reminiscent of E46 problems.

Haven't heard back about the scheduled work tomorrow, so I think that means I'll be trying to taking the rear bumper off to get the exhaust back on the beater M3. Besides that, some maintenance on the E30.

Then tell me to stop whining instead of telling me to do something else.

Also, you aren't going to use the ratchets against me. That is just about the only luxury item I can think of that I've bought myself in 2012, and even so, they are weekly use tools. Hardly a luxury to most people.

I miss my labradors who used to do that a lot. My sister's pitbull doesn't do that so much. Just annoying yelps while sleeping.
