Ducati is currently up for sale though, '63 is waiting for me to finish rebuilding the engine, and '76 is awaiting a mechanical restoration. I've expressed interest in a new project and though it seems unlikely we'll see within a few weeks. There should be pics of most of the cars in the top link of my sig.
Damn I just read the entire thread...... Not sure if this site can contain all my jelly

lol, I'm glad you enjoyed. I know I've been very lucky to be in the situation that I'm in, so that thread was me trying to show what it's like living with these classics. This week I'll slow down a bit and put some time aside to update it with some of the more recent things I've done. If anyone's ever in SoCal Hit me up. I'm normally at Cars and Coffee in Irvine most weekends if I'm in town.

Alright gentlemen, I'm supposed to be out the door in < 3 hrs to drive out to Calico and I'm thinking sleep would be a wise decision. Goodnight everyone.

Apart from that particular Porsche, did you collect the rest of them?

Sounds sweet. The saying is so true...the best things are the things you need to work for

That's kind of a good point. With a GT3RS, if you dent the front fender, you just bring it to a repair center, and you get brand new sheet metal since it will be the same fender shared with the 997 targa, carrera 4, turbo, and gt2.

Do the same thing on your F40, you have to spend 20k+ probably for a carbon fiber fender shipped some some obscure warehouse somewhere in the world, or some old man at ferrari has to pull out a mold and make you a new one.

Not very comforting to drive something hard if it's that expensive and hard/slow/expensive to deal with.

Yeah, i was reading about some of the Porsche guys complaining about the ceramic rotors on the track, and them being such an inconvenience that they were switching to iron rotors.

The more I look at the N20, the more I like what I see. With a tune and some simple mods, 300hp/tq to the wheels seems very possible.

Still, pretty impressive for just a tune. It's from some no-name company, though. Not sure how reliable it is. I'd wait for some more reliable tuners.

A really boring engine though. Turbo 4 cylinders have been around for a while, and there will probably be a lot more of them with emissions rules.

It's better than the current engine in the 328i. That is a boring engine.

With a turbo, at least there is a lot of potential for modding.

You mean the N52? I actually really like the N52 itself. I hate the DBW associated with it, but the engine is great. A good deal of torque down low (not like the turbo4s from what I hear), and it pulls hard all the way up to redline. Way more torque down low than my S52 with M50 intake manifold. That said, the exhaust and intake on the 328i are so quiet, it sounds fvcking electric. I hate it, I can't even really hear the engine when I drive it.

I think with an exhaust, intake, and better DBW response (or who-woulda-thunk-it, a cable throttle!) would make the N52 an awesome engine.

The N52 is a very cool and unique engine in many ways.

-Hybrid magnesium block with aluminum cylinder liners, very rare
-Infinitely variable valve lift and timing, rare
-Inline 6 engine, rare
-4 valves per cylinder, rare
-Naturally aspirated, increasingly rare

If you want modding potential, a subaru or mitsubishi will give you something much better to start with.
