The important thing to me is it's so quick and easy to drink some fruit juice or eat a piece of fruit, that I don't consume more than I want at the moment. Unlike with cooking some rice and an egg, or cleaning dishes and putting away boxes with cereal, where I want to eat extra so I'm not hungry again in an hour.

There's more to reading the label than just counting calories. You have to count the sugar and carbs as well, among other things. You're doing it wrong.

A can of fruit juice contains essentially the equivalent levels of sugar/empty calories of a can of soda. While juices help hydrate and there may be some vitamins, a 200 calorie nutrition bar and a glass of water will be better for balanced nutrition and quelling hunger cravings.
