Nothing major gone wrong
I like my car ... which is why I am even thinking about keeping it and doing an engine/transmission swap to extend the life of it

The engine could probably fetch a decent amount due to the low mileage.

If your car is a money pit and there is no hope for it... then you don't understand simple economics

right now its at about 43,000 miles. theres no doubt the entire car wont make it to 50,000. if i can part it out, i will. that means taking time off work which is kinda difficult when youre part owner

Actually, thinking about this, no he doesn't. He just drives his parents' cars because he spends all the money he make at panda express on weed.

Have you kept up with him? Does he actually own a car now?

try selling a rebuilt car then get back to me. its not like listing a car without a history or a massive list of current problems

Pay someone a few bucks to handle the part out for you
Or a percentage of all sales
Saves you the hassle and time and motivates the person to sell the parts for as much as possible

He has an E36, I think. The last time I saw him, he was telling me about it.
