SoCal (SD Area) E46 **SOLVED Problems**

This is a great place to post the PROBLEM and SOLUTION that they encountered with their E36, E46, E92.

I myself had this annoying chirp come from one of the pulleys. I decided to change the tensioner pulley, idler pulley and both belts hoping that would fix the problem. Well it didn't, the problem was still there. So I went ahead and ordered the water pump pulley and power steering pulley on eBay. Once again just guessing !

After some research and advice, I bought a stethoscope and used it to see if the noise was coming from the tensioner itself (not the pulley) and BAM! The problem was the tensioner !!! Learn from me and don't just order parts hoping that would be the solution, do some research and get a stethoscope !!
