OBD II Code p1524, car needs help

The other day I was driving home from work and my car decided to die on me, symptoms much like the fuel pump died or that I was misfiring and dropping cylinders. My car is a 2000 323i 6-speed This has happened once before so like before I let it sit for a minute or two and started it up, got it to run till I got home. Last time this happened I used some fuel injector cleaner and it has ran with no problems for close to 5 months. Some recent work I have done on the car include, new clutch, new flywheel, swapped 5 speed for 6 speed, new drive shaft, new differential. The car did this with the 5 speed and now with the 6 speed.

The symptoms I have noticed include:
A few days prior to the car dying, when clutch is engaged engine will rev close to 3,000 rpm then slowly come back down.
High Idle RPM, close to 1100 rpm. (Normally 800)
EML, SES, and CEL all come on and my cruise control stops working, won't even come on.
After the cruise stops working I will turn car off and on and it will work from another 10 miles or so.
When the car actually decides to die, All lights flash, Idle is very hard, accelerator is hardly responsive, when floored it will go to 1500 rpm then crank to 3 or 4 thousand. Shifting is near impossible and in 1st I can move about 5 miles an hour with a lot of jumping.

I got my hands on an OBD II reader and got the p1524 code which is for the Pedal Position Sensor. I have been reading about other peoples issues but before I got and replace my Throttle Body, ICV and other parts I want to make sure these will fix my problem. If anyone can help me diagnose this problem any advice is welcome!

I had read that one. It was an old post so I was hoping that someone had found a different solution by now but if that's not the case I suppose a few hundred more dollars into my car can't hurt. Is it worth trying to clean it all out first before replacing? I know some people have said it helped but only short term.
