My DME has the earliest software version, never got updated.

well I am not looking for those performance tune up, just want to updat the dme since early version has a lot of bugs,
constantly got p2237/pp240 code, replaced anything I can name and still got those two codes.
I also feel dropping power during uphill on the highway.

as a firmware engineer, I suspect the old DME firmware has some software bugs,
when car get to a certain high mileage, the algorithm to process the o2 analog signal got somehow overflowed, which caused the CEL and all kind of power dip issues.
i'm just guessing the root cause here.To get the real answer. need someone worked for this e46 project

i don't know, hard to say, lean or rich can be caused by a lot of things, have to replace all the related parts one by one
