I bought someting in which I was told came with a warranty. When I bought it in for repair under warranty and was told it was voided because the phone was tampered with. I don't know about other people, but that pisses me off.

Well, if you had any proof I'd like to believe you, but the only impression I'm getting from you is a scam because of how long you took to address the problem. What serial number are you talking about, the phone's serial number or the applecare number?

Did you not read my above post? Do you and the original OP have a problem with reading comprehension? The reason I'm bringing this up now (6 months later) is because the home button wasn't acting up until now. So I brought it to Apple to get it fixed under warranty. Well, the guy said the serial# had been tampered with and because of that, the warranty is voided. My problem is that I purchased a phone I thought had a warranty when it doesn't. That's my problem with this whole thing. I wasn't asking for a full refund. I want back what Apple Care cost ($100).

sorry dude, phone was 100% working and it was a scratch on the home button, there was nothing tampered with. I am 100% sure that the phone was never opened because i bought it myself directly from sprint, not 2nd hand... and to make you look a little smarter..... If the phone was in fact opened before, dont you think i would have fixed the scratch ??? The phone does have apple care, whether you opened it and attempt to tamper with the phone for me to give you $100 six months later, thats on you.

Seems like a sticky situation. Right now its the Buyer's words against the Seller's words. No proof on either party's ends. The fact that 6 months has past, I think the buyer may just have to bite the bullet and swallow the loss.

So how do you like the phone now that you've had a chance to take it apart and mess with a bit?
