My Ride: 2001 BMW 330CI

Hey guys, I'm new to the community and was just curious to what droning was? I also see it when people are asking about the exhaust or muffler and didn't understand
Also, does anyone have any recommendations to what kind of muffler I should put on my 01 330ci? I want it to be louder than stock, but still pass smog. Thanks

Continuous low humming sound. Frequently cyclical. Drives you crazy after a short while.

Drive at a steady pace around highway cruise speeds and if you have a drone, it will become very apparent, very quickly. It will drive you crazy and often make it even hard to talk in the car to someone.

In general, you can usually remove a muffler without too much drone problem, but DO NOT remove the resonator. If you remove the resonator, drone WILL be very apparent.

Almost as bad as cracking the window at highway speed and getting pressure pulses in the cabin. If you have run into this, you will know what I am talking about.

On my X5 with the panoramic sun roof, you cannot drive over 45 MPH with both parts of the sunroof open and the windows closed. You will also want to crawl out the sunroof. Close the rear portion of the sunroof and everything is fine.
