In diagnostic mode you can run NCSExpert through the Kracker and reprogram the LCM. If you run across the exact steps on what to set on the LCM let me know as I have the correct LCM I just need to figure out how to turn that feature on.

I'm still working on improving the RX/TX capabilities - there are some peculiarities with how the KMB responds to queries, and that data is useful for datalogging and basic diagnostics.

I thought I'd show off the improved music functions - now you'll be able to change the audio playback volume (how loud the Kracker outputs) and remap radio buttons to display info on the radio text bar - here's what it looks like;

There's also a status tab so you can see what the Kracker is up to. I've made it much more verbose - RX and TX's light up the LED's, and so do updating settings.

Almost ready to go!

How do I get the software you're using?

I posted this on ZHPMaafia in response to another question about re-mapping:

I don't know if there is a definitive definition for the term re-mapping but to me it means that you are changing the function of something. As in their example, you would re-map the R/T button from the Radio/Telephone function to the OpenTrunk function. That IS NOT what the Car Kracker does. The Car Kracker sits on the K-Bus line and listens for commands, you write little routines that when it hears a specific command, it transmits other commands onto the K-Bus. The example they show for the R/T button looks like this:

IF kbus.codecompare(@RTButton)
- kbus.sendcode(@TrunkOpen)

When the Car Kracker hears the RTButton command, it transmits the TrunkOpen command. What's important to understand is that it DOES NOT SUPRESS THE ORIGINAL COMMAND. This means that you R/T button does two things; change the Radio/Telephone mode AND pop the trunk open.

William

How does it decipher between the two functions? Or is it the "remapped" function only when CarKracker is connected?

Hey CSL! I've pushed an update (V.55) on to the SVN (code.google.com/p/car-kracker/source/browse/). It has a ton of improvements and new features (Release Notes), although there's still one bug I'm working on to get wav playback working with the new code base. You want to give it a whirl?

Will do it now (y) and return with results. Watch this post.

1. Just installed KMB update and Kracker Kustomizer. Must say, both have improved greatly and the kustomizer is way more stable!
2. The Kracker Status is very handy! Haven't been able to use Config though... I press C and it just continues doing what it's doing, however d works fantastically.
3.

The config mode is for talking directly with the kustomizer - not much you can do through the terminal with the config mode.

I noticed hehe

Tells me version and that's about it!

Is there any new support for the MKIV other than writing text? I haven't had a chance to plug it in yet

So close lol

Able to write to nav without issue so we are aware we have some connection now. Later, "No CDs" or something similar appeared as i was flicking through modes and I was so happy! I couldn't believe that finally we had a connection for emulation! but now there's no sign of changer again. Lol

EDIT: it's coming up with No Discs again. Success on so little levels! It appears for only seconds after "cd announce" shows up on the status tab.

Where exactly does it show XoXoXoXo? I haven't a clue if my SD card is working lol. Auxin mode is doing nothing as well

Requesting a sample wav for the SD card.

V.56 is up! (download)

Wav playback should be fixed. I've also put together a few demo files for testing (here).

Don't forget to always use the latest Kustomizer - the Kustomizer.zip is in the same directory as the binary.

One zip file with everything we need would be tremendously helpful.

Good point - I'll pack up the next release. You only need two files;
1 -The Binary
2 -The Kustomizer
