The below link is a worthwhile read. I would hope some of the members more interested in learning (rather than fact-finding to prove themselves correct) will read this entire paper. It covers a lot of basic theory on goverment spending - and more importantly - quantifies the actual growth of government in the last 150 years. I think it would be beneficial for members on here to understand the size/growth of the government before they set-off complaining that it is "too big or small" (depending on your side of the arguement).
