BMW 6 disc CD changer Error

Use the link below as a guide to remove the CD changer from the trunk:

http://m3.madrussian.net/diy_alpine.shtml

**Solution** is to spray 'Silicone Lubricant' to the mechanical part only. Do not spray on to the lense.

I keep getting a intermittent ' no disc' error on my 6 disc changer. Is this the same issue as above.
Looking for a fix.

I had the same issue with my CD-changer, your lens is not clean enough to read the cd,

When you got it out of the car you can open the housing, inside you will find the actual changer and reader. Pop out the little shockabsorbers and release the springs.
Take the whole thing out carefully (watch the short wires) and turn the little sprockets at the bottom until you can see the lens trough the opening on the top.

Use some pure alcohol on a piece of cotton and wipe it carefully, repeat that a couple of times and put it back together and it will work as new.

But it's not an easy job..
