FS: Rain Sensor - FREE shipping*

I ended up with a spare rain sensor for my '01 330xi. I needed just the prism that glues to the windshield and found the prism and sensor on eBay as a set. I tested this sensor when I first got it and it works perfectly. If you just need a replacement sensor or if you're adding rain sensing wipers to your car, this is perfect for you.

Asking $40 (cash, check, money order, PayPal)

*FREE Shipping to fellow fanatics in the Continental U.S. I will ship worldwide with pre-payment via PayPal.

How hard is the install if you don't have a rain sensor? And what else is needed?

Good question. The short answer would be to go look it up because it has probably been discussed before in another forum. To not seem like a complete a$$, my long answer is this:
I don't know if all E46's are equipped with the same connections and modules or if the rain sensor equipped cars have a different Generic Module (GM V) and wiring harness than non-rain sensor equipped cars. If the only thing missing is the sensor, all you need is the sensor and some way to tie into the existing wiring harness. If you want to assume the worst case scenario you would need a new windshield, the rain sensor, wiring harness (or splice into your factory harness), and GM V.

I do know that, for rain sensor equipped cars, if you unplug the sensor, the wipers work just like a car without the sensor. I also know that if you want to add auto headlamps to a car with rain sensing wipers, all you need is the right sensor and a new headlight switch. That leads me to think that all you really need is the sensor and a little extra wiring to add a rain sensor to a car that didn't have it originally. But remember, that opinion happens to come from a guy who has one for sale. So I might recommend a little extra research. All that being said, having the rain sensor, in my opinion, is a really, really nice feature. Best of luck.
