Fuel Filter Discovery
Sorry if people already knew this or its been posted before, i did search to see if it was but came up with nothing.. anyways... i wanted to order a new fuel filter and went with O'Reilly Auto parts and the one for my Xi has the fuel pressure regulator built onto it... well the one they have online is by order only but is the Exact same OEM filter BMW uses... if you order it from them its the BWD one at 59.99 http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...2515&ppt=C0023
This one is OEM, when i pulled mine from my car it looked completely identical, same brand name and part numbers on both. the only difference is the one i pulled form my car had the BMW logo on it thats all... but it fit perfectly and im a happy camper, only downfall is you have to order it to the store but only took a day and half to get there and no shipping costs. Hope this helps everyone when looking for the OEM fuel filter at a local auto parts store.

You could have ordered the Mahle from Amazon for $49 or car part kings for $42 also on Amazon.

In a pinch, its cheaper than the Stealership, but not the best deal if you shop on line.....

The important thing is that you replaced it. That's what counts. I'm pretty confident that Kayser is also OEM, especially for that particular filter. It's also pretty self-evident just by looking at the photos. Good job, OP. Did you also change the fuel lines?

Mine has the kayser filter and the original was kasyer too. But the new one didnt come with the rubber boot, so I re-used the old one.
Good find OP, getting parts locally for a decent price when it is urgent is always better than ordering online and waiting for the shipment to arrive. It doesnt matter how much you paid. I ordered the same from rmeuropean for almost the same amount and recieved the exact same thing without the rubber boot. Come one guys, how many of you guys ran to dealership and bought a super expensive parts when you broke or realized you forgot to order something and pay a ridiculous amount. I have done it many times for bolts and washers and once for the upper radiator hose when I broke it while hammering on the fan clutch nut. I paid $48 for the hose that would have cost me $20 but I had no choice since I had to get the car running. So it is always good to know that OEM parts are available locally for a decent price.
