Compact Dampers

Hi there,

just bought my first BMW. A compact 316ti. It needs dampers and I'm wondering if I have to buy compact specific ones or are all e46 suspension parts interchangeable?

What about e36 parts?

Any help would be great.

Ah, ok... I don't know for sure about the compacts.. But the e36 M3 rear shocks will bolt up fine to the E46. Some consider it a cheap suspension upgrade.

Go to realoem.com and look up your car (last 7 of VIN are especially helpful but not necessary). Find the part numbers, then put those numbers back in to see what other models they fit.

And yes, many of the Compact's parts interchange with E36.
