p1397 code 2000 328i

I have error code P1397 on my 2000 BMW 328i. Is the camshaft position sensor what I need to replace?? I ask this because most of the videos i have seen show numerous fault codes and never mention p1397 code.

cleaning a camshaft sensor?

At the moment I cannot afford a new camshaft position sensor. Is it possible to clean the old one and if so how is this done?

Cleaning it won't do anything. Get a new one from here:

Intake: $50

Exhaust: $30 + ship
