Car MD diagnostic tool
Has anyone used this diagnostic tool on their BMW?
or is this just another TV add gimic tool that does not do what it says it will? It comes with diagnostic tool, software, connection cable, etc. Just checking to see if anyone has tried it. https://shop.carmd.com/ps_a6/?gclid=...FQP0nAod6REAJA

You can get the same thing for free by just asking at any autozone for a free code reading...I believe they do that everywhere but in California...and you're not there as I recall.
There is some software that seems to come from questionable sources...mailed from abroad and then you download a full software program. This is only $30 and gives you something of value. But again, in reading on it, it sounds like the software, although freely available, is nonetheless pirated. Look into that. If I'm right and if you have ethics, then this might not be the best choice for you. Autozone is the way to go...or just get a Peake scanner...or some $30 obdII code reader from a local autoparts store.

Just hard to believe that this scanner would tell me exactly what caused all 6 of my ignition coils to fail at the same time when clearly there is some other underlying issue causing them to all misfire.

There is no way all 6 of them failed, as you've already realized. Even a faulty MAF could give you these problems. |

I logged and cleared the codes to see if they will come back.
