Sprint Booster Connected to "sport" button

I have a Sprint Booster with the remote control switch and I always wanted to connect it to a "sport" button on the console panel as that's kind of what it is. My '06 vert's panel had a space in it and the M3 vert panel matched mine except it has a "sport" button in that open space, so I envisioned swapping the panels, wiring the SB switch into the sport button, and using it. A friend of mine did the wiring/soldering, we tested it out, and voila! A clean, OEM looking method of switching the sprint booster. Pardon the dust on the NAV screen, the pics were taken with my cell phone during/right after the install.

That's where the original thread was, posted by my fellow Mafia member William who did the work. I'd seen a few inquiries about this on this forum at times, so I wanted to let people know it's doable.

Thanks. Love the sprint booster. Because our throttle is drive by wire, the SB basically decreases the signal time it takes for the engine to respond to when you press down the accelerator, so you feel like the car is more responsive and you're "getting to fast" quicker. You could sort of get the same affect for free by mashing your pedal to the floor every time, this way is a lot easier and more fun. :-)

LOL. If it makes you feel better, I don't have the HK button. Not really sure why, as I have the HK system.

I always understood that it's like a "loudness" button that modifies the sounds somewhat. They seem to agree on this thread I just found. Post #4 specifically. (Modified URL)

It makes music sound like **** if you push it. It's literally the most useless button in the car. HiFi is always on unless you tell it not to be.

They will sell you an extra switch for $25. You actually could use your current one, but if something goes wrong you'd need to buy another. I paid $50 for the extra panel... probably high but it was the only one for sale at the time.

Folks, the tire button is not a deflation system. That idea in itself is beyond retarded, as I am assuming the ones saying that its purpose is to deflate tires are as well.

It is the reset button for the tire pressure monitoring system.

Hmmm would I need to call for the switch? I don't see anything on the website to order it without the unit itself.

.

IIRC I called them up directly and either they took the order over the phone or they gave me the info to order it.
