Going to end up having to retake this course

Next Semester is regular Statistics, Physics, and DiffEq again.

Shitty. I'm doing great. Linear algebra and partial diff eq for me Also E&M, python programming, and hopefully an aerodynamics design course.

My end goal is to end up in aerospace, specifically dealing with aerodynamics. I love fluids.

Most of the class is, its frustrating that I can do the test review sets just fine, then the test happens and I have no idea what I'm doing.

Linear Algebra is easy.


I'm not even worried about stats to be honest, I got published by the IEEE over a white paper I wrote about statistical oversubscription of backhaul link without ever taking a statistics class.

Good luck in PDE - thats up there with O-Chem and Emag for "most failed college classes" lol.


I figure Physics shouldn't be that bad, I'm done with Calc and I'm only having to retake ODE, stats I'm expecting to be a breeze.

Anyone else with their entire math sequence done then taken Physics? I can't imagine its THAT difficult.

The single best resource I had in Calc2 was this wesite --> www.integralcalc.com saved my ass almost all the way through Calc 2 - its a godsend of a website and the girl doing the videos is pretty cute.
check out Patrickjmt.com and Khan Academy has a lot of good stuff. Calc 3 the outside resources start to dwindle

Any idea what your physics class covers? Yeah PDE is the only one I'm worried about. The good news is that after next semester all I need is an intro to proofs class and I'll have a math minor.

It's just classic Calc based Physics..but I hear guys in my ODE class crying out their arse about it...I don't get it. Anything you can draw a diagram with I'm really good at(like Trig)

After I take ODE, if I just take an upper level math class like Discrete I get a free Math minor.

Classical physics should be basic mechanics and gravitation, maybe some fluids thrown in there, I wonder what's so bad about it.

Exactly! Applied stuff I'm really good at, Math for the sake of Math is where I get lost.

Apparently the instructor the guy taking it is trash, but bear in mind this guy has a A in ODE. Maybe there are people like me out there where Physics just makes sense but Math takes real effort, and the converse?

One last bump and it's a long shot: Do any of you remember partial decomposition for polynomial fractions? It has to do with Laplace transforms. I've got the general gist of it but there's a unique situation that I'm getting snagged on.

Oh that was fun stuff. I remember doing some problems that took two pages for the decomposition.

Decomposing it is the easy part, and I'm pretty sure where I'm getting caught is easy but I'm making a dumb mistake. If you think you remember it well enough I'll take a picture of my work.

Sure, why not. I remembered enough to help Miles with his take home calc test, so it's probably still in there somewhere.

Suggestion. Use wolframalpha.com and they will show you step by step how to solve it. I would help you just because I took it about a year ago so its still pretty freshbut I have to work early. If you throw the problem on here I'll take a look at it.

Partial Fracs with Laplace is easy - post problem and I'll respond. I have a way of doing Partial fractions that blows your hair back with ease.
