Buying Advice 2004 330ci help needed :)

Hello All,

A little bit of a Into: im a long time lurker previous, 325ci owner and have done tons of DIYs from the section.

Unfortunately in May i got into a front end crash and the insurance company decided to pay out instead of repairing. Looking back I should have repaired it but:

in the last couple of months ive been trying to find a e46 but to no avail. I was thinking about waiting a bit a saving for a e92 but i found this:

2004 330ci
75k Kms or 47K miles
RED color with ZHP Rims
M performance package (canadian)
!!!!!!14,000 CAD !!!!!
and heres the dilemma: It has a SSG transmission

The car looks great, its in great condition full history and Low mileage. Just my luck its not auto or manny

My last car was auto so i dont know anything about SSG tranny. Half the threads I read say they work fine, and the other half say stay away.

Please help, more advice the better
and sorry for the brick wall of text

Judging from kms, its a nice car. The only problem with the ssg trainy is the pump, i believe. Over all i heard ots a fun car to drive. The price is good for such a low milage!
Id go for it.

wanna compromise? why get this trans if you do not understand it and it's not a manual or auto? owner didn't like it enough to put miles on it either!
Unless your racing, what would you want this for?

Would your first choice be auto or manual?

I understand the transmission. Originally I wanted auto so my mom can drive it. But the reason I'm hesitating is I don't want to buy a lemon tranny

That's a good deal if the car wasn't in serious accident. If the gearbox fails you can convert it to manual.

How much does it roughly cost to convert to manual or auto, just trying to think worst case scenario down the road

You doing the work, or turning it over completely to someone else?

And you can search for this topic. Been written up multiple times before.
