bird sh!t stains

last weekend i took a trip with a friend and left my car in a visitor's parking area of his apt. complex. when i got back, my car was bombed with bird sh!t, leaves, berrys, all kinds of stuff..

well i was very busy at work this week, and there was some on-and-off rain a few days so i didnt get around to washing my car.

this morning i went out to finally wash it, and i noticed that i have these spots all over my car from where the bird **** was...they look like big water marks kind of...they're almost discolored a bit (my car is black)

im pretty upset because i cant get them off.. does anyone know what i could do? im thinking at this point my only option might be to have the car professionally buffed/detailed. im not opposed to that but if i could get them off myself it would help me save a few $$$ right now

that would have been helpful...but i did not have an opportunity to get the bird crap off the car in a timely manner. I was away for a few days while it happened so the crap sat on there in the sun for about 3 days. The following week it rained a couple of times and I got very busy at work....I successfully cleaned the stuff off yesterday, but it left these big watermark looking discolored stains

Sound like it went right through the clear coat. Not muck you can do here, but take it to a professional.

They are no longer 'stains'; the clear coat has been etched.

They will probaly require polish / compound or wet-sand to remove after that amount of time as the acidic content has etched the paint surface
