Ahh, the California stereotypes never fail to amaze me.

lol @ people talking about cost of living.

OP has a 5 bedroom house in London. His price point is probably 3-5 million so he can buy a nice house in almost any area of California. Why would he even think about moving to some hillbilly state like Indiana or Ohio?

Are you dead-set on California?

I go there every few months for work, i'ts lovely but I just like the east coast better. ENTIRELY too many peoople live in Southern California, I haven't been to Northern California for years, but it might be better.

I like the New England area. You still get all 4 seasons. You can be skiing in anywhere from 1-3 hrs in the winter depending on mountain size, you can be at the beach in an hour, you can be in Boston in 1.5 hrs or NYC in 2.5 hrs. if that's your thing. Besides ... the worst "natural disaster" we get is the snowstorm which we know about several days in advance.

The word "there" can appear as a pronoun, as in “over there."

"Their" is a possessive pronoun. In a phrase like “Susan and Bill's car,” it could be used to to make a new phrase: “their car.”

”They're” is a contraction of “they are.” “They are” should always be able to replace “they're.”
-----------
Extra Credit: It's "I'm looking for an M3"
not "I'm looking for a M3".

I currently live in Southern California. If you have the money to move and settle here then go for it. My advice though is that you need to figure out where you'll be getting your income from. Business is bad at this time and it's difficult to find a job you'd actually enjoy. Unless you're here to retire or you have a job waiting for you here, don't leave UK. If you are moving here, northern San Diego is great. It's quiet, cool and sunny, and miles of beaches. San Diego is great for raising kids. There's lots of places to go on weekends. There's a zoo and safari, the beach, Legoland, Seaworld, and Disneyland is about an hour drive. If you want to spend some time with the lady, there's downtown San Diego. Good Luck.

I lived in Florida too, Pensacola to be exact. Beautiful place, nice people, no state income taxes, great place to be. Only reason why we moved back up north is because when Ivan hit we lost everything and my wife didn't want to go through that anymore.

Funny, I didn't knock Florida in my post though so I'm not quite sure what has your panties in a bunch.

Our tourism is booming quite nicely.

Yes! Those who don't live in CA are often haters of the state.

Dumb post is dumb. He can get 75F clear sky weather 365 days a year, but drive 2-3 hours and be at incredible ski resorts JUST LIKE YOU. So he can skip the shitty seasons at his will, like winter and fall. You do know California has absolutely incredible ski resorts, right?

I'm not a "hater" of CA, I offered a suggestion based on the fact that the cost of living is cheaper, which is good in this economy. Just because he can buy a 3-5 million dollar house doesn't mean he has to buy a 3-5 million dollar house.

forgot to mention. Northern San Diego don't have much traffic compared to L.A. or San Francisco. Vegas is a few hours drive. If you miss snow, it's a couple of hours drive to the mountain resorts.
