To live and die in LA. Can you handle that?

OP, you have to think about what exactly you are looking for from your move. Cost of living does not sound like a major issue. Coming from an international and cosmopolitan city like London, I personally think it would be very hard to adjust to life in America in any place other than Cali or a major East Coast city. Frankly, you'd be doing your children a big disservice by moving to middle America. No offense people, but that would be a downgrade to the OP's life in just about every meaningful way.

I personally think Cali, particularly Northern Cali has some of the best quality of life in America.

Honestly, it sounds like you are lucky enough to have a number of choices in front of you. Think long and hard about moving to the U.S. I think there are many places around the world that offer much richer cultural experiences, better quality of life and could be a much more interesting life for you and your family.

Oh, and dont worry about your kids being able to adjust. I know plenty of people that moved around the world a lot growing up (including myself), and have gained invaluable perspective on different cultures as a result.

I'd take Indiana over California any day of the week.

That's because you don't get laid, so it doesn't matter where you are.

Of the top 25 best cities to live in rated by Money Magazine, 5 of them are in the twin cities area in Minnesota. Only issue is...how do you feel about the cold? How about the hot? We get temps from -30F all the way to 105F with everything in between here.

lol I found that funny too.

Lower population, not a bankrupt state, lower traffic problems, lower cost of living, higher quality of life, nicer people, better public infrastructure, looser gun laws, better electric grid, no forest fires, no earthquakes, no mudslides, no pollution, closer to Canada not Mexico, etc.

What I'm saying is you're an idiot if you think CA is the best place to live in the US. Nice place to visit, would never want to live there. Unless it's NorCal, in which case I'd at least give it some thought.

LOL, I lived in both NorCal and SoCal. Yea, I'll listen to the guy from Minnesota.

Probably because it's an awesome place to visit for 24-72 hours once in a while but NOT somewhere you'd actually want to live

The word "there" can appear as a pronoun, as in “over there."

"Their" is a possessive pronoun. In a phrase like “Susan and Bill's car,” it could be used to to make a new phrase: “their car.”

”They're” is a contraction of “they are.” “They are” should always be able to replace “they're.”
-----------
Extra Credit: It's "I'm looking for an M3"
not "I'm looking for a M3".

i think op already ruled out nyc earlier. i <3 nyc and can't wait to go back. but... $1mm gets you crap in manhattan while you can get a house worth retiring in a prime (think san marino) l.a. suburb. visiting twice a year is probably all the nyc i need

Quoted for truth. Some people realize this when it's too late.

Or never realize it. My hat's off to the OP for figuring this out when it matters.
