How much will labor cost to replace belts and pulleys?

If I buy the belts and pulleys kit from Tischer, how much should it cost to do the job? How many hours should it take?
My friend's friend will probably do the job but I don't know what a reasonable price is.
Thanks.

Someone that knows what they are doing, it should be less than an hour, two hours if they run into some problems.

Pulleys to replace the idler and tensioner, or under drive pulleys?

I hope you're at least doing the idler and both tensioner pulleys while you're there...and you could do this yourself, you know, for maybe 2 hours of reading time and $50 in tools...parts are $40 for belts...maybe $60 for the pulleys I mentioned. I did all three pulleys in about 15 mins or so...maybe 20, but I have a manual so it takes a few minutes less than someone with automatic (and for auto, you need 1 or 2 special tools)

Talk to Solidjake. He lives in NY and could probably do it if he has time for a fraction of what a shop would cost.

Hey dmax. I believe the parts you listed are included in the Tischer kit. The kit is $400 so it better. I have an auto and I'm not handy around cars so it's better to have my friend's mechanic do this job for me.

Definitely a DIY. Might take a few extra minutes if you have an auto like me. You just need a 32mm wrench and a rubber mallet to remove the fan clutch nut so the fan and the shroud needs to come out. That was the only pita. Good luck.

So you're underdriving it? I don't think you'll notice anything, but check as the pulleys I mentioned are really the only ones that will go bad and need replacement. I recall one cracked PS pump pulley...and I read a lot here!

Dmax. I think the kit comes with tensioner and Idler pulleys. I don't think it comes with underdrive pulleys.

If the kit is $400, then you're paying for two tensioners, which you probably don't need and who knows what else.

Search thread titles for 'pulleys' and you'll get PNs for all three as Dayco/Autozone pulleys...$60 or so for all three. Belts...$40 or so. Not sure where the extra $300 is from if it's not tensioners...which again, you probably don't need. If the belts run flat between pulleys, then you just need the tensioner pulleys, not the tensioner itself.

So, I figure I deserve about half of what I just saved you, but I'll accept a beer next time I'm in Staten Island!
