Beating a dead horse.... sorta

I am going to the salvage yard tomorrow and there is an 05 325ci sitting there in decent condition. I am looking to do the XM/Sirius upgrade and an AUX port. I noticed that it says you need a new antenna amplifier. Can I pull the part from the donor car and use it in my 99 328i? I am kind of piecing things together as my sound system is screwed. Only 1 speaker works anymore as the others are all dry rotted. I am looking for a nice sounding system with a stock headunit. I like going OEM+ as much as possible.

Things I need......
Stereo from an 03+
Antenna Amplifier
Sirius module
AUX Wiring Adapter

Is there anything else You can think I need?

Yes, the antenna amp from the ‘05 will swap right in to your ‘99. However, the newer headunit has a single antenna input port, so you’ll have to buy the antenna cable adapter that combines the 2 RF signal streams (AM & FM) into a single cable. I think sosche makes it. It shouldn’t be hard to find the part # by searching this forum, Bimmerfest and bimmerforums.

The RF cable may be made by Metra.
