Help! Car been siting for 7 months fuel system questions

I need help figuring out what to do with my e46 the car has been siting for about 7 months I didn't plan for this to happen so no precautions we're taken. The car had a empty tank of gas(red light was on) and to was time for an oil change. I have before i know it it has been 7 months. The car was well maintained and running really good before but now I don't kno what to do to get her started other than charging the battery. I'm sure I need to clean the fuel system but not sure how to. Should I pull the fuel pump out and use a syphon pump to get all the sludge out change the fuel filter?? Pleas any help is appreciated I love my car and want to get her running again.

Thanks

Seven months is enough time for the fuel to get a little stale but it should still be okay, it will have dropped a little bit in octane (I've let a car sit six months once and did nothing, it was fine). A year or more and the gas would start to get worse.

Do your oil change and put in five gallons of fresh 91 Super. Pull the fuel pump relay and crank the car over for about 10 seconds (have a fully charged or even better - new battery). Install the relay and crank her up. Drive gently for the first 10-15 minutes, you should be fine.

Pour some oil in the cylinders before cranking, fuel system should be OK after 7 month.

Re: Help! Car been siting for 7 months fuel system questions

Had my 944 sit for 5+ years with 93 octane gas in it. Took a bit of cranking, and some rough idle, but eventually ran. Don't be scared. Start it up.

But crank it for ~20 secs with the fuel pump disabled and plugs out, then start. It will be fine...except for a few seconds of smoke and some minor tire flat spotting which will go away after 10 mins of gentle driving.

Then add some hi-test and Techron. After it is through the system, change the oil.

first i changed my oil and i charged the battery, cranked the car with the fuel pump disabled, then the car started after some hesitation at first had some ticking noises at first but after it warmed up it sounded good. I also put half a tank of 93 octane and a pint of seafoam in there. thanks for the help guys went well
