Hello guys,
I've been thinking of trading my e46 330i SMG over an M3 e46 2003-2005 manual. Some facts: I'm a racing freak, i love racing of any kind and for me the M3 is the closest from a race car imo. The coupe design, Manual transmission, great power, handling, etc. My 330i works awesome as a daily drive. It has good power, cool transmission (although it's not manual), good handling and nice design. It's a 4 door. But idk, i guess it's not enough for what i believe a cool car is. I could also buy a cheaper car for DD and get the M3 for weekends, that way i would enjoy the M3 on the weekends, but then i ask myself: Why not have the joy at all times?? Meaning getting the M3 as a Daily Drive. So, what you guys think? M3 a Daily Drive or a Weekend car? Throw me some thoughts and opinions. Thank you Bimmer freaks!! -HH |

I currently DD mine with 1 track day. AWESOME DD except for traffic...but still not bad at all. Considering getting a 190D for most of my weekly commute. Honestly the E46 M3 is one of the best DD's for the price that you can track on weekends with little/no mods.

Me personally, DD. The M3 is a beautiful piece of machinery and if you enjoy the car, I don't think you will get your "fix" by just driving it on weekends

I daily drove one of years, then it became my track rat and not suitable for street use. All and all the M makes an amazing daily driver.

Is the M3 a daily? Depends on how thick your wallet is.

I DD mine. However, my drive to work is only a little over 5 miles (mostly highway) with 0 traffic. I only fill her up every three weeks or so...
I only get ~15 minutes a day with the M....but I make them count!! I've taken it to the track twice this summer (my area doesn't have nearly enough events!) |

I am used to pretty non-plush cars, my last car was a 98 240SX with coilovers, spherical bearings, solid pillowballs, solid bushings...it was ok for the 3-4 mile commute I had and a fun weekend car, but not the kind for long commutes.
My 06 M3 ZCP, I have driven 15,000 miles since I bought it in January and 8 weeks of that time it was sitting in an airport parking lot while I was working remote. Great daily driver, very practical...the only thing that could be better is the gas mileage (I average 18-19). |

I have driven my M3 daily for the last four years (~65k miles). It's acceptable as a dd but my modded suspension has me looking for something more comfortable for my short commute. I'd rather save my M3 for pleasure driving than being main transportation.
