Help with key fob programming
Hey,
Recently had the key fob go bad on me, replace the battery to no avail. Now i a m stuck with a remote key that doesn't work remotely. Is there a way to program a new key fob with out a functioning one? My key just unlocks the car manually and starts it. thanks |

You do not need a current synced and working key fob remote in order to program a new key fob remote. All you need is a key that works in the ignition and can start the car, that key can be a brand new key.
Did you happen to measure the voltage on the original key fob battery? |

I didnt measure the voltage. I soldered a new battery on, and it would turn the interior lights on, but not unlock. Then it just became unresponsive.
How do you program a new key fob without using the remote function? All i found online was how to do it by inserting it in the ignition and pressing the unlock button 3 times. |

If it turned on the interior lights when pressed then the key is synced and sync procedure is not needed. If it didn't unlock the doors then there might be a problem with the general module or the actuators.
But now that it doesn't do anything you need to sync it. Close all doors. Turn key to acc or on, but, don't start the engine. Within 5 seconds remove the key and the press and hold unlock and then press lock three times then release unlock. |
