AC: Little Airflow

When I turned on the AC to full blast, the airflow is very little. the system is loud but little air comes out.

is this normal for a bmw?

this is my first time buying a BMW

when my air flow is set to full blast, it's like equivalent to the lowest setting on a toyota

I had an issue like that myself with my car and it ended up being that my evaporator was leaking and then went completely bad. It started out the same way as yours then half of my dash started only blowing cold air and the other half was blowing hot...if it is your evaporator it's going to be kind of pricey, the part alone is around $280 dollars and the labor can run upwards of $900 even at independent shops and that's because they have to take your whole dashboard out unless you plan to do it yourself...so I'm not sure that your evaporator is bad but I had the same situation and mine was shot, but after fixing it the A/C runs like brand new. Hope I was some sort of help.

I just bought mine last month and mine was like that, sounded really loud, blew from every vent, but it was pathetic on how low the air pressure was. I recently had to do the spark plugs, valve cover gasket, etc. I took off all the housing for my cabin filter, and cleaned it all out. When I reinstalled it (with a new filter-mine was clogged to the max) it has been working fine. It may just be a coincidence, but mine blows hard now.

To take it out, just remove the 3 twist bolt things, take the cover off, take the old filter out, and use take out the 4 t-30 bolts, unclip the wire harness from under it and pull up and out. I washed mine out with a garden hose, the housing was dirty.

Same issue. Sounds loud but air pressure sucks.

Also, mine blows cold in winter and warm days but on hot days it completely fails to overpower the heat and suuuuuuuuuucks.
