Weird central locking problems...

I've spent the last couple weeks searching for a solution to my problem and I keep coming up empty.

It seems that some of the problems I'm having could be explained by a faulty GM5, some of the others ones don't. I figured I'd get other peoples opinions...



Here are the problems: (this is a 2001 330i)

These first things seem to only happen when it's hot outside:

1) When unlocking with the fob all the doors unlock just fine, but sometimes the corner lights don't flash

2) When exiting the car and attempting to lock the doors with the fob, they won't lock. In order to lock them I must first hit the unlock button twice (when I do, it sounds like the car is attempting to unlock even though the driver door is unlocked from me exiting) to unlock all the doors, and then hit the lock button again and everything locks fine...except the corner lights don't flash.

3) opening or closing the sunroof has intermittent problems...but works 90% of the time

4) the rear driver side window won't auto roll up when it's hot outside. It rolls up just fine but you have to hold the button the whole time.

5) the front map lights don't work...it doesn't matter if it's hot or cold outside. They never work. I've replaced the bulbs and checked all fuses.



Everything else about the central locking system and electronics work fine with no other problems whatsoever.



Does it sound like a faulty GM5? Or some other problem(s)?

either bulbs are bad connection or programming is messed up.

2) When exiting the car and attempting to lock the doors with the fob, they won't lock. In order to lock them I must first hit the unlock button twice (when I do, it sounds like the car is attempting to unlock even though the driver door is unlocked from me exiting) to unlock all the doors, and then hit the lock button again and everything locks fine...except the corner lights don't flash.

sounds like the lock actuator is not getting the right lock position.
