Dropped a 3/16 hex head under the hood- am I fine?
Hey guys, installing angel eyes in my car, and accidentally dropped a 1/4" drive 3/16 hex head in the area located in the picture? See the attached picture, I was closing up the ECU and dropped it on the last bolt. Basically in the area between the ECU and brake fluid that is sectioned off from the engine.
![]() Do I need to worry about it at all? I dont think I can get to it (I cant see it where it is) I am just looking for some peace of mind about it. Thanks! |

I did the exact same thing installing my angel eyes. I didn't feel like taking things apart to get it so I left it in there. I also dropped a wire tap in there too. This was a couple months ago. I'll take the time to get them sooner or later. You should be fine

Clean them out when you get under the car and take off the dust shield all at once

Well, nothing is moving down there, so you are fine...but try a magnet on a stick anyway. Maybe wrap the side of it so you don't get hung up sticking to metal all around...try electric tape or something.

Did that.. I rarely use a magnet that is attached to the end of a 18 inch expansion stick. Works great in removing fallen parts from impossible to get to area under the hood.

I'm confused... What were you doing with a 3/6" socket on a pure-blooded German car which has everything in metric sizes..?
![]() Edit: Ah I see; must be the after-market angel eyes..
