I have a similar issue, steering wheel wobbling when braking normal from 50+ mph, but wont wobble if I press harder. mechanic at bmw dealership said I have warped rotors. So I'm going to replace my rotors.

^try re-bedding your brakes by getting them really hot before buying new rotors.

so i pulled my wheels off to see if i could visually notice anything wrong with my brakes. cleaned them off really good with brake cleaner while i was in there. didnt really see anything besides torn cv boots so i put the wheels back on. this morning while driving to work...no wobble. solid braking. only i think i blew my alignment out of place kicking a wheel off cuz now it pulls to the right a little. oh well! dont need to order brakes now. now about those cv boots...

^ You probably retorqued the wheels on properly. That's often the problem as well.
