Laguna Seca Blue Interior Dye Attempt!
the previous color was titan grau.. or at least thats what most parts said on the labels as i was taking it all apart... so besides the headliner and the little bit on the dash being gray, after two years of owning it, i didnt really care for it anymore.
anywaayyyyyyyyy. it was time for change ... here we go.. tell me what u think.. old dash ![]() when done. ![]() ![]() some trim around the car ![]() carpet before ![]() carpet after 1 coat (it currently has 3 coats but i forgot to take picture.) ![]() seats after 1st coat. (brushed on so i can get seams really good) ![]() ![]() ![]() 2nd coat. sprayed. still see under it. ![]() ![]() ![]() 3rd coat. pretty solid. ![]() ![]() this color is SOO HARD to capture correctly with a camera. its so sensitive that the type and amount of lighting affects the outcome of the picture. this is flash all taken with the iphone 4. ![]() cheers. let me kno what u guys think so far.. carsos u too. i posted inside ur thread so we can compare our projects. no intent of thread jacking here.

OK... some more now...
here we go... where to start... hmmmmmmmmmm this.. when working with LSB dye, there is a ton of white dye mixed with this blue dye to create the color... the bottle they provide kinda sucks cuz the opening is so small... the dye separates and the white solidifies and settles at the bottom like really its frustrating tryin to mix it in there... what i did is this.![]() i cut the bottle in half and kept the dye in this.. it makes for mixing the white back into the blue a lot easier and does the same as the bottle.. anyway.. thats just a recommendation.. ok now that im done with that vent lol heres the second part of the dying.. all 4 coats on doing the 72 hour drying.. im letting dry for 72 hours cuz its not the warmest weather and i wanna give it some more time than necessary. ![]() ![]() ![]() then my interior trim was all dirty and crappy.. so i wrapped it.. ![]() ![]() i assembled what i could on the interior at this point. ![]() here is the first part complete and assembled.. just a comparison of before and after.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() again crappy lighting + crappy phone pictures = unable to capture the true awesomeness of this color... this requires a professional photographer with a nice awesome camera..

Looks really good. Although I kind of agree with the poster above. I would have done the seats with blue down the center and black bolsters (probably too involved to do though). Other than that, nice work.

i wonder why ppl never say "TOO MUCH RED" to e46 that are IR/IR..... a little odd.. thanx tho. i did a light blue interior on a dark blue exterior for contrast.

Wow that looks awesome. It looks more like Estoril Blau interior than Laguna Seca Blau but that might even be a good thing since your exterior doesn't have the slight green hue. Did you use Klear Kote so the dye is sealed for rough use? I'm really jealous cuz it came out so great, I don't mind all the blue at all.

I'd love to have the courage to tear apart my interior to two tone it red/black.

I LOVE IT!
I just wonder if it will hold its color well, I'd especially be concerned with it rubbing off on clothing. I'd love to have either blue or brown leather...but I have black.

i think it looks good. And quality wise looks really good also, but yes, i wonder how it will hold up. Ive used the dyes on leather and stuff, but not on the seats where there is constant friction, so id like to see how it hold up over time!

A+ job, but I too think it's too much blue. But I probably would've gotten sick of the gray as well. Just like how I'm sick of tan
