Question 2.8L into OBDII E36 M3 Swap

Im looking to swap a 2.8L M52 into an OBDII E36 M3. Also looking to do an EWS delete/bypass. Do I just need a motor & a DME.

Then get the EWS deleted from the ECU and it should be good to go correct?

Im not sure if you can have the EWS aligned from a non-m DME to an M chassis but maybe there is nothing to inhibat this.

was the 3 liter e36 engine to powerful for you? what is the point of that? 2.8 in an M3? what the hell?

There's a couple reasons I can guess at. For one, better reliability at race rpms. And two, power levels that may fit certain class restrictions.
