So clearly you do not baby your phone. Or maybe a TROLL scratched it!
Gorilla glass is scratch resistant to a certain degree (keys, coins, etc) but it is not completely resistant. Most scratches on theses phones are actually caused by sand, dirt, dust, and other small particles.

this. i'm pretty sure regular window glass is more resistant to scratches than this gorilla glass crap.
i can take my sandy hand and caress my car window. if i did that to this gorilla glass it's be toast.
i think the key feature of gorilla glass that makes it a top choice for phone is it has a LOT of flex to it making it hard to break.

This is normal, it was covered earlier in the thread. It has something to do with an adhesive in the phone and will eventually go away.

So far so good after one week. The alcantara picks up lint, but nothing a few swipes of the hand won't fix. Adhesive seems to be of good quality, even while the phone goes in and out of a jean pocket.

Maybe, but at least I can just peel it off.

I've never been a fan of cases, but at least this provides some protection from scratches to the back of the phone and a non-slip surface. Perfect for my needs.

Are you joking? ZAGG is quite possibly the WORST screen protector EVER made... They are awful and give your phone that WAVY ugly ass look...If you like your phone to look like this, get zagg::

Like someone suggested, SGP is a great brand and so is ADURO MEMBRANE. STAY AWAY FROM SH*TTY ZAGG!

Someone else had that problem with their phone in this thread. They got a new phone from it because something was wrong.

Speaking of scuffs, did you read about the strike at an Apple factory in China? Well, I guess they're denying there was one, but it was widely reported--apparently a fist fight broke out b/t line workers and the quality control guys.

From what I could gather, the gist is: quality control standards got to be so strict (due to "scuff gate" I assume) that the line workers claim they're not able to meet their goals in time.

Anyone have a good recommendation for a bumper for the iP5 similar to the OEM Apple one that came out with the 4/4S?

Scientifically untrue. There are videos proving it, showing the force required to scratch normal glass and both variations of Gorilla Glass. Believe what you want, but a whiner is all that you are.
