Top and Bottom have something to do with Antennas.

Although my battery has been draining relatively fast (def not as good as my old GNexus running a custom kernel/rom) I have noticed that it charges very fast too. I wold guess a full charge somewhere between 1-2 hours.

iOS 6 is killing my battery life. Might be related to my recharging habits.
On my next phone, I'm gonna do the battery habit thing perfectly. Hate this stuff.

a lot of people really don't get this. they didn't just "add another row of icons" they went from a 3:2 aspect ratio to a 16:9 true widescreen. the icons were just coincidental. verify it by the resolution or dimensions if you are skeptical.
love the change. it is so much better

I agree that the larger screen is a step in the right direction, but they should have just gone wider and larger while they were at it (4.5'' imo). That is just my personal opinion. Not looking for any fanboy arguments about how your thumb is too short to reach over 1/4'' more.

Anyways, forget the size, the screen itself is GORGEOUS. It is THE best phone screen I have ever used, and I have owned all the Super AMOLED Plus's and the previous retina displays.

The only complaint I have is that because it is still narrow, and the browsers don't do text wrapping, text looks ridiculously small while browsing and I have to constantly resize/scroll to read anything.

Also, at the moment, a lot of apps don't take advantage of the new screen size so you get black bars. But this should be fixed as the apps are updated. Chrome and netflix for example still have bars.

Updated mine last night. Crashed once during the update. Had to start all over. So far so good.
Not feeling them removing the YouTube icon/app. But whatever.
Haven't tested the map/navi yet.

Curious why you left Android for iOS and how you like it?

(Also, Samsung is notorious for slow charging and connectivity issues...)

All of this trouble with the maps app is a joke. It's totally overblown by the media. I have not had a single problem with iOS 6. The battery life and responsiveness of my iPhone 4 and my retina display iPad are both greatly improved. I seriously HATED the google maps app. It was slow, unresponsive, frequently crashed, or completely failed to find what I was searching for. I have no complaints about the new maps app or the iOS 6 as a whole. Also, my iPhone finally shipped yesterday! I will be getting it Friday.

I just wanted to try it out (I'm a techie) and I intended to return it if it wasn't great. But it is. I think I will keep the iPhone. What it lacks in customiZation it makes up for in speed and aesthetics. It is just a pleasure to use. No false positives or negatives with clicks. No lag. Just perfect. Boring but I am looking for precision now in a phone.

I left my 3GS to switch to Verizon. I stayed on android for the lte and navigation. Now that apple got all te things I wanted I am back.

I totally agree about Maps being overblown. I remember back when we used Mapquest or Yahoo maps. Those directions were crazy too in the beginning. Although I though it was odd on Apple Map since they are using TomTom. I guess now you should go back to comparing TomTom vs Garmin. I remember my last trip north I used Google Maps and it took me way out my way. I got to my destination 40min late, which cost $$.

I checked out the 5 yesterday. Although I like the fast downloading, I'm not sold on the wt. and the screen size. 4s imo looks sexier than the 5. Then too iOS6 is huge. Ofcourse its smaller on the ipHone 5 but if you get a 4s, atleast 3GB of your hd space is gone. That's the one thing I agree about some of the bloggers gripe with the iPHone 5 or Apple. If you are gonna release a huge OS, then give your user more space. Make the 64GB your base model and have 128GB & 512GB for use to chose from. If you try watching a movie, you will need to delete some Apps.
