Is it not the same camera as the 4s, just with a new lens cover?

Same sensor, camera (and therefore lenses) is thinner with a new cover.

I know for a fact the quality is better. At least night pictures are much clearer.

Best way to store photos? I'm considering not storing them locally on the phone but want to be able to access them anywhere.. perhaps just auto load everything to Flickr over wifi and then, when transfering to my mac, have them delete from the phone after import?

Drop box has an auto-upload feature for pictures. The G+ app has an instant upload feature as well that stores them in Picasa for free (re-sized to 2048 x something). You can also store full sized images in Picasa, although that will count towards storage use and you don't get much for free. I'd look into those, I'm sure there are other ways too though.

I use drop box for just about everything. Let me know if you want a referral, that way we both get an extra 500mb of storage for free.

Download and install Ubuntu 12.04. Register for their free Unity account. Your computer will act as a cloud server and automatically sync any pictures on your phone.

I think it's much easier to use than photosynth

Hmm... I thought unity was just the name for their new UI. I haven't used Ubuntu much recently, or my laptop at all for that matter. I'll have to look into this tonight.

PM me your email and I'll send it over when I get home from work. They block all cloud storage services from here due to the security risks from confidential material.

This goes for everyone...I can always use some extra free storage

You're right, it's called Ubuntu One. You assign the folders you want to sync and via the free app, you can have access to anything on your computer from the phone and visa versa. I still like the layout and UI of 10.04 (pre-unity) better but I'm happy enough with 12.04 that it's not a huge deal.

Can you post some screenshots of the phone/ubuntu interfaces?

Not mine, but you get the idea. See my above post for how it works. You can stream songs from the computer, but the whole process is still pretty basic. They have a dedicated app for music that's better, but it isn't free. Audiogalaxy is still my preferred method for streaming from my computer. My biggest gripe with One is that in order to upload from the pone to PC, you have to have location services turned on. I've yet to figure out why, but I'm not a fan.

So, for the folder, I could select the entire SD card and have a real-time backup of its entire contents along with access from my computer?

I'm not entirely sure. I don't know if it physically copies the file or just gives you access to it and creates a temporary file when you open it on the PC. I haven't played with it much because I haven't had a need to use it yet. My biggest need for remote storage is music and I have that taken care of.

The cpu on ip5 does post-processing to cut down on the noise. Hence you get better pics with the same sensor.
