I'm advocating no case at all... rather a case that is slim or slightly less offensive in the pocket. The otterbox cases are like bricks.

BTW: you do know that changing those rears on the 4 is incredibly easy right? Two screws and you're done...

I must be incredibly lucky. I've had a 4 since they came out, have dropped it on everything from concrete to tile, and never had a crack.

I had a scare once. I nailed the edge and it cracked slightly, but went back in on itself so it never stratified further.

LOL... bgsmith beat me to it. Chase... listen to this guy. It comes down to one's priority and mine is protection for the phone, first and foremost. If Lifeproof offers a similar teal colored case for the iPhone 5 I'd strongly consider buying that case because I want a case that matches my car color due to the color symbolism behind that color and how it relates to my heart awareness efforts.

can't say enough about this phone. it's just incredible! set my alarm for 5:45a this morning and woke up to the smell of bacon wafting through my house as siri was making me breakfast.

Navin, last car show I was at, your entire wardrobe was color matched to the car... all the way down to the blue shoes... I was amazed.

I've shattered the front screen on the 4 even with a case from about pocket height. What 3 feet or so? Prolly a little less. My kid dropped another 4 of ours from about the same height indoors and still broke it (glass is fine, but screen won't show anything even tho you can tell it's on by sounds and stuff). Even if it's easy to replace, it still costs money to replace and is annoying that it's relatively fragile. I dunno if you remember those old Nokia phones everyone had at one point, but those things were like indestructible.

When my 5 gets here, I'm gonna go with Lifeproof. I need full protection, but I agree that those Otterboxes are like bricks. It's doing its job, but I really dislike how huge my Otterbox makes my 4. I do like Apple products, but yeah, they're really just very functional items to me. Not fashion. I just saw the white yesterday and while I like it better, I'm not gonna bother trying to switch because I'm just gonna encase it and will never see the color anyways.

this thing is slippery as hell. If I don't get a case on it I'm screwed.

Once I get one I'm not getting a case, I'm getting a chain for mine so I can wear it around my neck and let everyone know I have a cool phone.

Wrapsol : same protection as ugly "skin cases" with none of the bulk.
