An AA 330ci breaks 2 minutes on Texas World Speedway

Finally! Broke 2 minutes on Texas World Speedway, a track where power is king, with a 1:59:32. I think this car is good for a couple more seconds easy.

Thanks to:

1. Active Autowerke for the outstanding but limited edition twinscrew kit.

2. Mayco Performance for putting my car (engine, transmission, and supercharger) back together after my spring time disaster. And also building a kick a$$ oil cooler setup!

3. Soul Speed Performance for their suspension contributions.

So pick up your phone and call Viral@AA immediately! PM me for his cell phone number (kidding...don't!)

Well done! You drive that course nice and smooth and relaxed. You are right, that lay out begs for big HP!

Most any turbo M would eat that right up. But you did great for what you have. Looked plenty fast. Nice going! Feels good, doesn't it?

He's probably faster than 97% of all Turbo M's...especially yours' Bdave...it's moving backwards.

Thanks!

That track is great for high HP cars. I usually see a lot of vipers and vettes there and they can hit 160mph+ on the front straight. Going the direction I was going in...gotta have brakes that are up to the challenge or you'll be driving the NASCAR oval after murdering some cones.

There were a lot of "political" reasons behind the scenes that deterred mass production of the kit.

Now it's too expensive to justify it. The cost of the kit would have to go up close to $2000 what it used to cost for production and with the prices of cars going down it's hard justifying it.

I think I'm right at 135mph - 140mph. I definitely can pick up a couple of MPHs entering the front straight and braking a little later on exit. Just need some bigger balls.

And thanks!

The kit has a blower, laminova cores, and some steel or ironintake runners. Centri kits don't so there's the additional cost of the twinscrew kit.

I'm sure you can build your own. The compressor died when my engine blew up...so I've now got a Kenny Bell which was the same as the Opcon compressor in every way. Inside and out.

Bigjae how's the new engine support mods holding up? I don't remember exactly what upgrades you did to the engine during the rebuild

Here are the engine mods:

Carillo rods
VAC oil pump sprocket
Pocket ported head
S54 tensioner
VAC oil pan baffle
ATI damper
VAC billet oil filter housing
Setrab oil cooler

Its running great when my belt drive components are good to go. I've lost a tensioner pulley and an alternator pulley so far. Not sure if its bad parts quality or what. The other issue is AA specs the mechanical tensioner. You have to run a hydraulic tensioner with the VAC housing so that's a long term concern.

Otherwise, oil and coolant temps stay in check even in hot and humid conditions (~100 degrees) and runs strong.

Watched some of the vid looks like the car is running nicely Have you considered using a thin strip of race tape in the middle of the steering wheel? May help when analysing the vid afterwards.

Thanks for sharing
