Kenwood DNX9990HD or Pioneer AVH-P8400BH?

i'm kind of pushing for the Kenwood unit but wanted to check with everyone here
if you think you know another double din that may be better let me know, excluding Dynavin (too slow/outdated IMO)
looking for voice command, option for GPS, USB/hard drive support and BT.

I'd go Kenwood personally. Never been a fan of Pioneer stuff. Whether it be their sub par subs, over rated max wattage advertised amplifiers or radios. I have used and installed a few Kenwoods in my day and I have always been impressed with the quality for the price!

unit is pretty small, may not need modding to fit.. may still have unit professionally installed however so i dont have to deal with running USB, gps and bluetooth mic

pm sent - wondering how the install went. this seems like a great unit, but wondering what kind of effort it was to get it installed.

Me also, I may be picking up a Kenwood 5190 because I work at a local tech shop (employee discounts ftw) and wanted to know how the install goes / the work it takes to get it done

sorry guys

forgot about this thread
i've been mainly updating everything about my car including the Kenwood unit in my main thread

http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthr...e=4&highlight=

i got it professionally installed so i actually sent the installer e46fanatics threads on 2din installs and sent him one on getting the floor vents to work and it took him 8 hrs

i bought all the pieces needed which was a mistake because they ended up being crap and the casing to hold the unit in fell apart and had to be spot welded together.. the face plate trim had to be dremelled to fit the deck

got it all installed and it worked amazingly for a month or so then kept rebooting so i had to send it back, end up being a firmware issue.. i was on v1.0 and they sent me a new unit with v1.2.

i then attempted to install it myself and couldn't get it back in properly as i didn't know which route the tech went on running the wiring for the harness so i called him up and he came over and installed it properly for free so i tipped him some cash.

to be safe i went and downloaded the newest version (v1.6) from the kenwood site and installed it...

unit originally on v1.0 had bluetooth issues resuming play from my phone... everything is now sorted and works amazing.. unit is fast, runs my 1TB portable hard dive.. love it
