Question DEI 504D shock sensor where to put it

Ok...I bought a DEI 504D shock sensor rather then the 504M I thought only the wiring was different but I am having a hard time figuring out where to put it in the headliner. It is about 3/4in. tall but looks exactly like the ones I have seen pics of in the write ups. However, there is only a 1/4 to1/2in gap between the headliner and the metal cover for the sunroof so where do you all put it and does anyone have a picture of where they placed it before the motion sensor was put back up in the roof? Also mine doesn't have the fuse in line with the shock sensor, can I do without the extra fuse? This is on a 323i.

Thanks

I tried using the 504D, and when I hooked it up, I no longer had an audible confirmation that the alarm was armed. I hope you have better luck with it.

why would you put the DEI in the headliner, wouldn't heavy rain beating on the roof set off the alarm if the DEI is up there?

i have the 504D mounted behind my glove-box. works excellent. If your not getting audible confirmation, something is not right with the unit. the 504M and D models are the same, just have different plugs on them which you cut off anyway....just locate you 12v source, ground it, and find your neg. out hood pin switch wire. they are all in one location bsaically. I posted pics on here some time ago, don't know if they are still around however...
