If so how do you care for it? I've had one for 2-3 months but its starting to die and get dry and brown.

I had one a few years ago. Found out most of them are outdoor plants. Well at least the cool looking ones. They ended up dying.

Google would be a better option for information than a car forum when it comes to tree maintenance.

I bet you have a juniper

These are meant to be outdoors and will die (no matter what) if you keep them inside.

Can you do half and half? Maybe take it out for a few days then bring it in for a few days? Or would that just be prolonging the inevitable. I'd like to have one in my office but it looks like that wouldn't work.

Unfortunately not. The junipers need to be outside. When they die, the leaves will often stay green for weeks so people don't even see it coming until it is too late.

There are other types of bonsai trees that do well indoors. A ficus, for example, will do very well indoors. I have two inside and both are very hardy and healthy.

I used to do bonsai with my old martial arts instructor. He ended up moving back to Okinawa for awhile, but when he came back I actually helped him open up a bonsai store. Last I heard though, he's been hanging out in Boston training some girl who is also training to become a boxer.

Good to know. That's what I will look for, then. Thanks!

Anyone know where I can get one of these? http://www.artofbonsai.org/america_e...rus_libani.jpg

Cedrus Libani. I want to get it already planted in a pot. All I found were seeds and I don't want to start from scratch.

I've looked into tangerine bonsais before. They're supposed to do well inside and you can even eat the fruit lol. They are pretty expensive, though.
