e46 factory convertible hardtop accessory

Hello everyone, figured I would ask this question. My father is picking up his newly acquired 04' 330ci vert this weekend and it comes with a factory hardtop. Is this one of the rarer options on the e46? It would seem to be the case in my opinion, as I rarely ever see anyone selling factory hardtops with their e46 verts. Any thoughts?

I thinks its rare in the sense that not a lot of people bought them. I mean, whats the point really. If you wanted a coupe, buy a coupe... I also think they were very expensive, and obviously a PITA to store.

Wouldn't call it rare per se, and once in awhile you'll see a hardtop for sale online. I just wouldn't call it common, nor does it tend to add value to the car. As the earlier post said, they can be a pain to store if you don't have the right garage/setup. Certainly a nice to have if you live in cold country.

Any interest in selling the top? What color is it?

The hardtop does not make the car more rare. Like the other members stated, it's not common but sometimes you see one with the hardtop. Winter is coming and I'm putting the hardtop on. Here is my set up with some new shoes too.
