Unsteady Rear End - Solved

When my diff/axle went out at the drag strip, it later caused only one tire to wear all it's thread away, so I figured I would only need to change that one tire since the other tire looked to be in really good condition.

The tire on the right has about 1200-1500 hard miles on it. The tire on the left is nearly brand new.

What's interesting is that both the tires in the picture have nearly the same tread depth, however, the tire height and the shape of the contact patch are very different.

This is 99% the reason why my car was swaying so badly.

Lesson learnt; replace all your soft compound tires at the same time, even if one looks to be in great condition.

I had similar wear issues with my PSS's. They were very squirmy under heavy accel and shifting with insane sloped tread wear. I found my RCAB's were completely blown out.

sent from my ATARI sc1224
