e46 M3 Euro header vs other aftermarket
I've been doing some searching around for the right header setup for me. I'm going to be running catless as well.
Specs : If I'm going catless does it matter whether I run OEM Euro headers or something like AP? Flow / diameter should net similar hp gains? Here's my dilemma : Status gruupe : $810 Agency Power : $890 Euro header : $620 Price wise and fitment the best choice looks like OEM Euro - cat-less. From what I've read I can't seem to find anyone running euro headers without cats in section 1. If the HP gains will be about the same for any headers running cat-less then I will go after the Euro units. Cheers |

Bump
Would also be interested in including SS stepped headers into this mix for comparison sake. |

Do you live in the area of BC that has no bi-annual emissions testing? If not, running no cats would not be a wise thing to do. For example, on the freeway, I was following another cat free M3 that was maybe 100 to 150 yards in front of from me, and on this relatively open stretch of freeway, I could smell his hydrocarbon laden exhaust. It's your own choice to make yourself "cop (police) bait", but the smart play is not to.
Now that I think about it, do Canadian M3s even run the same exhaust as M3s in the United States? I would think Canadian and U.S. M3s would be using different exhausts. You should check to see where the cats are located in your Canadian M3. You already may be running a set of euro headers. Last edited by lucky_doggg7; 10-31-2012 at 10:20 AM. |
