I cannot figure out how to open the dome light/lens to change dead bulb, please help

I upgraded years ago to LED interior bulbs in my e46 and noticed a dead bulb on of the 3 bulbs near the passenger side. I just cannot out now how to remove them. I can easily remove the entire assembly and unplug it and some what pry the front plastic lens open but after 5 minutes of fussing with it I gave up before I crack it off. Can someone give me some insight on how this comes off? Thanks.

I think I figured it out, incase anyone else searched this. I had to turn it the bulb sockets counter clock wise from behind to remove the bulbs.
