I don't like the inconsistency of a single point meth injection system. Customers can add meth at their own risk, however I would only use a reputable system like aquamist or coolingmist with dedicated failsafes tied to an electronic boost controller.

+1 , I totally agree.

HPF's meth system is pretty advanced.. even with its fail safes it can still cost you a motor. Most 'fail safes' are reactive.. not proactive.. so in order for the fail safe to trigger it has to detect the problem.. in that split second you could run lean if say your pump fails mid stream.. etc.. I've always been against meth, even in my car I think I only used meth once, or twice before removing it.

I use water injection on my rx7 for additional safety. I don't tune for extra power with it I just add it for another line of protection for the motor. You loose a little power doing so but it's reassuring knowing that water is absorbing heat that could cause detonation during combustion plus it cools AIT's. And yes, Coolingmist FTW.

Just don't tune for it, use it as a cooling aid and octane booster. Since you guys are using the stock DME, it should automatically advance timing by itself and pull it back if need be. Unless that 'feature' has been disabled?

Bingo, this is exactly my point. I think it would be a good idea to add a bung to your piping. People can cap it off if desired but it at least allows others to run meth if desired.

I must admit, I really like the power curve to this thing. Look forward to learning more about this kit, really has me leaning back toward an e46 M3 as my weekend toy. Great work guys.

Damn, one thing I noticed right away in the video is how quick the car starts (Jealous). No check engine lights and the spool sounds damn good on this thing. Really good stuff MaximumPSI and NickG!!

Adding a bung is not a difficult task. If a buyer really wants to run methanol injection, they could add it themselves after they purchase the kit.

I currently have a AA. supercharged SMG M3 making an anemic 400whp. I thought about buying a smaller pulley and "throwing more boost at it" trying to get to the 500whp. mark. But I've always wanted it to be turbo'd not much of a supercharger fan boy for obvious reasons.

My question is: with proper DME tuning, and this turbo kit bolted to the bone stock S54 motor @ 10lbs. boost do you think 550whp. is possible? Would the motor hold together AKA. headgasket last @10lbs. WITHOUT METH INJECTION?

I know I would need larger injectors (you say you already maxed out the stock injectors at 520ish. whp?)

Open, free flowing catless exhaust (already have this)

Stronger clutch (already have this)

If I can achieve 550whp. with this turbo kit? On my bone stock s54 motor, using only the factory DME to tune it, then Im in on this kit without any further questions.

The 500whp+ pulls we're done only on race gas I believe. A stock compression S54 isn't going to go much out of the low 4's without race gas or E85

What fuel would you plan on using for this 550rwhp goal of your's?

Basically anything over 500whp. would put a huge smile on my face, 501rwhp. would be just fine with me, but 550 is even better. I live in central ohio so I'd just be using 93 octane pump gas, I Do have Cam2 110 octane about 3 miles from my house easily available but I'm not willing to turn my modest M3 into that much of a "race car' so to speak. Take's the daily driver convenience away.

93 octane, stock S54 @10lbs. boost without any meth/water injection: wonder what the outcome of that would be on your kit?
