Door replacement DIY?

Hi Guys,

I need some help with removing and replacing a rear door on my Touring. The car is getting a full respray at the moment and i got an extra rear door from the breakers yard to get sprayed with the car, because mine was in really bad shape (heavy rust on the lower edge of the door). I have been searching for a DIY for replacing the door, but I cannot seem to find any.

Any tips will be highly appreciated

Take the bolts out.

This ignores the obvious step of taking the door panel off and unplugging the wire harness.

Personally, I would have paid the people that are painting the car to replace the door.

I was more worried about the door adjustment part, not actually removing a few bolts. I know that TIS and bentley should have some information about proper door adjusting technique, but I have had no luck searching the internet.

Bentley manual does not outline technique for the adjustment as I was just looking myself. They only mention the use of door shims (0.5 or 1 mm) and show a diagram of the door/hinge system. Looks like it's going to be an Ikea hinge adjustment approach of try, try, and try again.
