FS: convertible top hydraulic pump/motor unit

This week my top was opening and closing very slow so I went to check the level on my hydro unit and noticed there was fluid around the area. Thinking it was coming from the hydro unit I went to a nearby auto body shop that sometimes has verts. I found an 06 that was hit in the front and only had 40K miles they were parting out. The hydro pump unit was intact and in new condition so I pulled it out and purchased it. Well it turns out my mechanic discovered the leak and it was not on the hydro unit but the left vert lid cylinder that is in the same area. Now I have this hydro unit and I don't need it.

I listed it on ebay and craigslist today. Please let me know if you are in need of one.

Hi, I was posting earlier about a similar 'problem' with my hood. It takes about 40s to open and close, which I thot was not quite normal

Can u share more abt 'left vert lid cylinder'?

Can you take a pic? Where is it located? What did the mechanic do? Replace the hydro unit? or top up the fluid?

sgbeemer, the reason it was slow is because there was a leak in the hydraulic system, in my case from the left lid hydraulic cylinder. Check your fluid level in your hydraulic pump that is located in your boot/trunk towards the front left hand side behind the rug covering. You may need to fill this. If it is low you might want to check form leaks in the system.
